Many painters, especially the novices, may find painting and depicting water reflections a bit intimidating. Painting water is surely a complex task because you need to consider the things that affect water such as clarity, depth, surroundings, and reflections. However, this task is never impossible to do. Materials:
- Cut moon watercolors
- Three brushes (the large hike, the three-quarter inch flat, and the number three rigger)
- Fabiano watercolor paper (around 15 x 11 inch)
- Plywood to clip the watercolor pipette
- Landy cloth to wipe off the excess water
- Paint (Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, yellow lemon, Pines Greg Ultramarine)
- Number 3 Riga
The steps:
- Clip the Fabiano watercolor paper to the plywood to keep it nice and flat to work with.
- Brush the watercolor paper with the large brush and clean water.
- Then, brush the paper with the Raw Sienna paint. Don’t forget to clean your brush afterwards before applying another paint color.
- Now, brush the pipette with the Burnt Umber paint mixed with fine gray to make some clouds from the right-hand side of the paper to a bit into the foreground.
- Now, make the distant trees without cleaning the brush. It will make the sign colors on the brush more Raw Sienna Ultima rain. You can also use lemon paint for the trees.
- Then, make the reflections of the distant trees using the same paint color and brush. Make sure you make the reflections before the paper dries.
- In front of the distant trees, paint a nice dark mix paint to sharpen the reflection. Make sure you make variations to the reflection paint.
- You can put sort of Adam solar on the edges to help prime the reflection a little bit better. Paint it come down from the distant trees and rise up a little bit, and bring it down. Bring the reflection down as high as the tall as the object is.
- Then, put a little bit of light red to add more color and to give a touch of light. In doing this, you have to just make it a soft touch, not a strong one. You have to be very subtle with it.
- Next, add little bit of brush between the trees
- While the paints are still wet, add little twigs and branches to the trees with your finger nail. Don’t forget to make the reflection of them into the water as well.
- Put some grains to the paint. Using lemon yellow, paint the grains by maintaining the gap between the bottoms of the reflections in the lands just to help create nice watery fit.
- Then, put a few sweeps for the land using the mixture of red, black, Pines Greg Ultramarine, and yellow paint colors. Then, put few little grasses for the edge of the land.
- Next, make some focal pints and a little bench along with someone sitting on it using number three Riga and darkish color (for the bench) and light red (for the person).
