Supplies
Before starting the project, the first thing you need to do is to collect all materials and tools needed to make the bird. Here are the supplies that you have to get:
- Recycled or old CD
- Scrapbook paper
- Construction paper or orange card stock
- Small googly eyes
- Pen or pencil
- White craft glue
- Scissors

Step 1. After the supplies are ready, what you need to do is to make the shape of body parts of the bird. Take the orange card stock and draw the shape for the bird’s nose. To help you get the appropriate shape, you can firstly draw and cut the shape of the nose out of some construction paper.

Step 2. After the shape is ready, place the nose shape on the orange paper and draw. Then, cut the template. To accompany the nose, you need to cut the shape of the eyes. Pick any papers resembled the eyes’ color. You can use the white construction paper for it.

Step 3. So far, you have got the shape of eyes and nose for the bird. Next, glue the nose and eyes altogether. Place the eyes on top of the nose’s dimension. Glue them all with white craft glue and leave them rest for awhile to set.

Step 4. After the eyes and nose are set, place them at the center of the CD. For the eye balls, take two small googly eyes and stick each of the eyes onto the eye part of the bird as seen from the picture. Let them rest for awhile to make the glue dries.

Step 5. While waiting for the glue to set, you can make the wings for the bird. The step is almost the same with step no.1. You need to create the wing shape out of the construction paper and cut it. Then, paste the template on the other construction paper at any color that you want. Make two templates for the bird’s wings, that is, left and right wings.

Step 6. Cut the wing shapes with scissors. Make sure that the size and shape of the left and right wings are the same.

Step 7. Glue each hand on the right side and the left side of the CD with the white craft glue. Let the glue dry for awhile.

Step 8. In this project, the ribbon is chosen as the decoration. If you want to make the male bird, you can make some tie for it. Draw the template of the ribbon on the paper and then cut it. Paste the template on the scrapbook paper and cut it.

Step 9. Glue the ribbon on its back side using the white craft glue.

Step 10. Stick the glued part of the ribbon on the head part or the top part of the CD as it resembles the ribbon decorating the bird’ head. To make it look like the real ribbon, you can cut a small circle and stick it on the center of the ribbon as shown from the picture.

Step 11. Draw the shape of the bird’s feet on the paper and cut it. Then, put the feet template on the construction paper and paste it precisely. Make two feet for the left and right parts.

Step 12. Cut the feet using the scissors.

Step 13. Glue the back part of each foot and then stick each of the foot on the bottom part of the CD as shown from the picture. Let the glue to set for awhile.

Step 14. Tada! Your bird decoration is ready.
